Amit Shah Emphasizes Zero Tolerance to Terrorism at National Security Strategies Conference

New Delhi: The 8th National Security Strategies Conference (NSSC) concluded on July 26 in New Delhi, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasizing the need for enhanced coordination among security agencies to address evolving national security challenges.

Amit Shah highlighted India’s growing stature globally, noting that this would lead to increased security challenges. He stressed the importance of a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism and praised the country’s efforts in tackling security threats.

The conference focused on several key priorities, including enhanced coordination among security agencies, involving young police officers in brainstorming sessions, and establishing a reliable ecosystem for real-time data sharing.

Internal security challenges would remain dynamic due to India’s geo-political neighborhood. State Police forces and Central security agencies were urged to adopt a proactive approach to security, focusing on achieving a ‘Drugs-Free India’, enhancing maritime security, and implementing development schemes in Left Wing Extremism-affected areas.

The Union Home Minister emphasized the need for capacity building of State Police to counter infiltration and smuggling activities along India’s maritime borders and for all-round development in affected areas to promote stability and security.
