Diamond Butterfly Film Screenings Kick Off in Delhi

New Delhi: A special program of open film screenings, presented by the Russian Cultural Foundation in partnership with ROSKINO and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, is happening in New Delhi from December 2 to 4 at PVR Plaza-CP, Connaught Place. The program features five films participating in the Open Eurasian Film Award “Diamond Butterfly”.
The films include:
– “Dance with Mom!”(2025, 80 min., dir. Dastan Madalbek, 16+): A story about an egocentric young man who must escort his mother on her final journey.
– “Magtymguly” (2024, 145 min., dir. Muzaffarkhan Erkinov, 18+): A biographical film exploring the life and legacy of a great poet and thinker.
– “The Erl-King” (2024, 96 min., dir. Goran Radovanović, 18+): A drama delving into human relationships and mystical secrets.
– “The Dark Castle” (2024, 115 min., dir. Kirill Kuzin, 18+): A historical fantasy based on Vladimir Korotkevich’s novel.
– “Two People in One Life and a Dog” (2025, 110 min., dir. Andrey Zaitsev, 12+): A heartwarming tale of elderly intellectuals living in St. Petersburg.
The Diamond Butterfly Eurasian Film Award, initiated by Nikita Mikhalkov, recognizes outstanding cinematic achievements. Winners receive $1 million for Best Film and $250,000 for other categories.
These films showcase diverse genres and themes, with winners from countries like China, Serbia, and Turkmenistan. The Diamond Butterfly Eurasian Film Award recognizes outstanding films reflecting traditional, spiritual, and moral values.
