ITBP Flags Off All-Women Expedition to Mt. Nun in Ladakh

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) flagged off an all-women mountaineering expedition to Mt. Nun, a 7,135-meter peak in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The expedition is being led by team leader AC/GD Bhanita Timungpi and comprises women officers of the force. The team will face challenging terrain and harsh weather conditions as they attempt to reach the summit.
ITBP Director General Rahul Rasgotra handed over the ceremonial flag to the expedition leader, wishing the team success in their endeavor. The expedition aims to showcase the determination and mountaineering prowess of the women officers of the force.
The team leader, AC/GD Bhanita Timungpi, briefed the gathering about the route, training regimen, logistics, and technical challenges of the expedition. The team is comprised of women officers who have undergone rigorous training to prepare for the challenging climb.
