NSA Ajit Doval Holds Talks with Wang Yi in Beijing, Discusses Bilateral Ties

Beijing: National Security Adviser Ajit Doval met with Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Beijing. The meeting was part of NSA Doval’s visit to China to attend the 20th Meeting of the SCO Security Council Secretaries.

The meeting between NSA Doval and Wang Yi focused on reviewing recent developments in India-China bilateral relations. Both sides emphasized the need to promote the overall development of bilateral relations, including by fostering greater people-to-people ties. This highlights the importance of enhancing cultural, economic, and social exchanges between the two nations.

In addition to bilateral relations, the two leaders also discussed counter-terrorism. NSA Doval stressed the importance of countering terrorism in all its forms and manifestations to maintain regional peace and stability. This is a crucial issue for both countries, and cooperation in this area can help to ensure a more secure environment.

Both sides exchanged their views on other bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest.

NSA Doval expressed his enthusiasm for the 24th round of the Special Representative (SR) Talks, stating that he looked forward to meeting with Wang Yi in India at a mutually convenient date. The SR Talks provide a platform for India and China to discuss their differences and work towards finding solutions to outstanding issues.

The meeting also highlights the importance of regular dialogue and cooperation between India and China, which can help to build trust and understanding between the two nations.
