Rajnath Singh to Pay Tribute at Police Commemoration Day

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will lay a wreath at the National Police Memorial in New Delhi on October 21, 2025, to honor the brave policemen who lost their lives in the line of duty. The event marks the anniversary of the ambush at Hot Springs, Ladakh, where 10 policemen were martyred in 1959.

A joint parade of Central Armed Police Forces and Delhi Police will be held, and Singh will address the gathering. The National Police Memorial, dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018, is a symbol of the sacrifices made by police personnel and their role in preserving national security and integrity.

The memorial features a Central Sculpture, a Wall of Valour, and a museum, serving as a reminder of the bravery and sacrifice of police personnel. Various commemorative events will be organized from October 22 to 30, including visits by family members of martyrs, police band displays, and essay competitions.

The event will be attended by dignitaries, including Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, MPs with a police background, and heads of Central Armed Police Forces.
