Union Home Minister Amit Shah Inaugurates New Multi Agency Centre

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the new Multi Agency Centre (MAC) at North Block in New Delhi. The new MAC will provide a seamless and integrated platform for synergizing the efforts of all agencies in addressing national security challenges.

The new MAC network has been executed at a cost of over ₹500 crores and has undergone significant qualitative and quantitative transformation. It incorporates futuristic capabilities such as embedded AI/ML techniques and GIS services, enabling advanced data analytics and predictive outcomes.

MAC, India’s premier intelligence fusion centre, has been operational since 2001. The new MAC, housed within the Intelligence Bureau, has successfully connected all intelligence, security, law enforcement, and investigative agencies. The network spans the entire country, including island territories, insurgency-affected areas, and mountainous high-altitude regions, ensuring last-mile connectivity to district-level officials in remote areas through a secure and dedicated network.

The new MAC aims to strengthen the country’s efforts to tackle serious threats like terrorism, extremism, organized crime, and cyber attacks. It will enable accurate trend analysis, hotspot mapping, and timeline analysis, providing predictive and operational outcomes.

Amit Shah praised the success of Operation Sindoor, highlighting the excellent coordination between intelligence agencies and the three armed forces. He emphasized that the new MAC will further enhance this coordination and elevate the quality of data analytics.

Amit Shah emphasized the need to integrate other significant databases housed with different central agencies onto the MAC platform. This will leverage advanced data analytics and enhance the country’s ability to combat the terror ecosystem and organized crime.

The new MAC is expected to play a crucial role in India’s national security architecture, providing a robust and integrated platform for intelligence sharing and analysis.
