India’s Operation Sindoor: A Showcase of Technological Edge

India’s military operations against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir have once again demonstrated the country’s technological prowess. Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack in April 2025, showcased India’s ability to conduct precise and strategic military operations.
According to Indian Govt, the Indian Air Force bypassed and jammed Pakistan’s Chinese-supplied air defence systems, completing the mission in just 23 minutes. The operation was a calibrated military response to the evolving pattern of asymmetric warfare, which increasingly targets unarmed civilians along with military personnel.
The Indian Armed Forces used a range of systems, including battle-proven Air Defence systems like the Pechora, OSA-AK, and LLAD guns, as well as indigenous systems like the Akash, which demonstrated stellar performance. The operation also highlighted India’s capabilities in drone warfare, layered air defence, and electronic warfare.
In a separate incident, Pakistan attempted to engage military targets in Northern and Western India using drones and missiles on the night of May 7-8, 2025. However, these were neutralized by the Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems. The Indian Armed Forces subsequently targeted Air Defence Radars and systems at several locations in Pakistan, including an Air Defence system at Lahore.
Operation Sindoor marks a milestone in India’s journey towards technological self-reliance in military operations. The successful execution of the operation demonstrates India’s growing capabilities in defence technology and its ability to respond effectively to emerging threats.
