Adani Defence & Aerospace Partners with Sparton to Boost India’s Anti-Submarine Warfare Capabilities

In a significant move towards bolstering India’s self-reliance in defence and aerospace, Adani Defence & Aerospace has signed a binding collaboration agreement with Sparton, a group company of Elbit Systems and a leading provider of advanced Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) systems. This partnership marks a major milestone in localizing the assembly of complex electronic systems and advanced ASW solutions for the Indian and global markets.
Indigenizing Sonobuoy Solutions
Through this collaboration, Adani Defence & Aerospace becomes the first private sector company in India to offer indigenized sonobuoy solutions, a critical component in enhancing Undersea Domain Awareness (UDA). Sonobuoys play a key role in detecting, locating, and tracking submarines and other underwater threats, supporting naval security and protecting naval carrier strike groups.

This partnership aligns with the Indian government’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’ initiatives, aimed at promoting self-reliance and indigenous manufacturing. By localizing the delivery of sonobuoy solutions, Adani Defence & Aerospace will reduce India’s dependence on foreign OEMs and contribute to the nation’s defence ecosystem.
