Union Home Minister Amit Shah Congratulates Officers on Historic Anti-Naxal Operation Success

New Delhi: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, met with officers who played a crucial role in recent anti-Naxal operations, congratulating them on their historic success. The meeting, held in New Delhi, was attended by senior officials, including Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sharma, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka.

Amit Shah emphasized the Modi government’s commitment to freeing India from Naxalism. He expressed eagerness to meet the brave jawans responsible for the operations’ success and plans to visit Chhattisgarh soon.

The operation, carried out by Chhattisgarh Police from May 18, 2025, to May 21, 2025, resulted in a significant breakthrough. On May 21, 2025, an encounter in Boter village’s forests led to the elimination of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basavaraju alias Gaganna. Arms and ammunition were also recovered.

The officers involved, including: Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police Sundarraj, Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar (Narayanpur), Superintendent of Police Jitendra Yadav (Bijapur),Superintendent of Police Shalabh Singh (Naxal-free Bastar District) were honored by Amit Shah for their leadership and execution
