India, Israel Reaffirm Commitment to Fight Against Terrorism

New Delhi: Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, paid a two-day visit to India, marking his first trip to the country in his current role. During his visit, Sa’ar held productive talks with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, focusing on bolstering the India-Israel Strategic Partnership across various domains.

The discussions encompassed a wide range of areas, including politics, security, agriculture, trade and investment, defense, and people-to-people ties, as well as critical and emerging technologies like semiconductors, cybersecurity, and AI. Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to a global approach of zero-tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Sa’ar shared Israel’s perspective on developments in West Asia and the Gulf, while Jaishankar expressed India’s support for the Gaza Peace Plan, welcoming the return of hostages and hoping it paves the way for a durable solution. The ministers also discussed furthering cooperation in multilateral fora.

The External Affairs Minister and the Foreign Minister of Israel witnessed the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding on training between the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel.

During his visit, Sa’ar also met with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and paid a visit to the Haifa Chowk Memorial, highlighting the significance of bilateral ties between the two nations.
