Raksha Mantri Lauds IAF’s Operational Capability at Air Force Commanders’ Conclave

New Delhi: Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh praised the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) high-impact, short-duration operational capability, citing Operation Sindoor as a prime example. Addressing the Air Force Commanders’ Conclave, he described the IAF as a technologically advanced, operationally agile, and strategically confident force safeguarding national interests amidst the evolving global order.
Operation Sindoor showcased India’s ability to deliver swift and precise strikes, demonstrating the IAF’s capabilities. The operation highlighted the importance of understanding enemy capabilities and staying vigilant to deal with future challenges. Air power has emerged as a decisive force in modern warfare, with speed, surprise, and shock effect being its inherent characteristics.
Rajnath Singh noted that the people of India trust the Armed Forces, especially the air defence capability, as evident from their calm response during Operation Sindoor. The IAF’s performance during Operation Sindoor was commendable, and the Government is committed to further strengthening the security apparatus.
The 21st-century warfare is a war of ideas, technology, and adaptability, with cyber warfare, AI, and precision-guided weapons becoming essential. The Government is working with the private sector, including start-ups and MSMEs, to modernize the Armed Forces.
The Sudarshan Chakra initiative, announced by PM Narendra Modi, will play a crucial role in protecting national assets. The development of indigenous jet engines has become a national mission, with the Government fully committed to achieving this objective.
Operation Sindoor is a shining example of Tri-service synergy, highlighting the importance of jointness among the three Services. Jointness will further strengthen the security system, enabling the country to deal with adversaries more effectively.
The conclave provided a strategic platform for IAF leadership to discuss operational priorities, address emerging challenges, and advance Aatmanirbharta in defence capabilities.
