Indian Coast Guard Commissions GSL’s New-Generation Fast Patrol Vessel ‘Amulya’

Goa: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has commissioned its latest addition, ICG Ship ‘Amulya’, a cutting-edge Fast Patrol Vessel, at Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL). The vessel is the third in the series of eight Adamya-class Fast Patrol Vessels, showcasing India’s strides in indigenous shipbuilding and defence self-reliance.

With over 60% indigenous components, ‘Amulya’ embodies the Government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make-in-India initiatives. The 51-metre vessel boasts modern design, efficiency, and rapid response capabilities, powered by two 3000 KW advanced diesel engines, enabling a top speed of 27 knots and an operational endurance of 1,500 nautical miles.

Equipped with state-of-the-art indigenous weapons and systems, ‘Amulya’ will undertake various missions, including surveillance, interdiction, Search & Rescue, anti-smuggling operations, and pollution response, reinforcing ICG’s role in safeguarding the eastern seaboard.

Based at Paradip, Odisha, ICGS Amulya will operate under the Commander, Coast Guard Region (North East), commanded by Commandant (JG) Anupam Singh, with a crew of 05 officers and 34 personnel.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by senior officials, marking a significant step in ICG’s fleet expansion and strengthening coastal security.
