Indian Naval Ship Tabar Arrives in Casa Blanca, Morocco for Three-Day Visit
In a gesture of strengthening bilateral relations between India and Morocco, the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Tabar, a frontline frigate, arrived at Casa Blanca, Morocco on July 8, 2024, for a three-day visit. This visit aims to bolster the bonds between the two navies and explore new avenues of cooperation.
INS Tabar, a stealth frigate built in Russia, is commanded by Captain MR Harish and has a crew of 280 personnel. Equipped with a range of weapons and sensors, it is one of the earliest stealth frigates of the Indian Navy and part of the Western Fleet based at Mumbai.
During its stay, the crew will engage in professional interactions with the Royal Moroccan Navy, including a PASSEX (Passage Exercise) at sea upon departure. These engagements seek to enhance interoperability and allow both navies to observe and learn from each other’s best practices.
This visit highlights the warm bilateral relations between India and Morocco, which share a unique geographical position with coastlines along the Mediterranean and Atlantic. The interaction between the two navies is a significant step towards strengthening their relationship and exploring new avenues of cooperation.
