Indian Women Cricket Team Meets President Murmu, Receives Praise for World Cup Win

New Delhi: The Indian Women Cricket team, winners of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The President congratulated the team members on their historic victory, saying they have created history and made millions of Indians proud.

“You have become role models,” President Murmu said. “The younger generation, especially girls, will be inspired to move ahead in life.” President lauded the team’s excellence, determination, and teamwork, which led to their victory over the seven-time world champion Australian team.

The President noted that the team reflects India’s diversity, representing different regions, social backgrounds, and circumstances, yet united as one Team India. She expressed confidence that the team will continue to excel in the future, writing new chapters in Indian cricket history.
