India’s Defence Forces Gear Up for Future Warfare with Tri-Services Course

New Delhi: The third edition of the Future Warfare Course kicked off at Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi, bringing together top military officials, defence industry experts, and academics to discuss emerging trends and challenges in modern warfare.

The three-week course, organised by Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff and Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS), aims to equip officers with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle complex security threats. Participants include officers from the three services, defence industry representatives, and experts from various fields.

“The course focuses on developing an understanding of how technology is impacting war fighting, necessitating a relook at our thinking, concepts, doctrines, strategies, and tactics,” said a defence official.

The course curriculum covers topics such as critical and rare earth elements, supply chain vulnerabilities, and regional geopolitics. Experts will share insights on emerging technologies, and participants will visit institutions critical to defence capabilities.

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan’s vision is to prepare officers for modern warfare challenges, and this course is a step towards achieving that goal. The event is expected to foster collaboration between defence forces and industry, driving innovation and growth in India’s defence sector.
