Embassy of India Marks Pahalgam Attack Anniversary With Exhibition in U.S. Congress

Washington: The Embassy of India hosted a special exhibition on the “Human Cost of Terrorism” at the Cannon Caucus Room, Cannon House Office Building, on Tuesday, marking the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 civilians.
Through interactive displays, videos, and personal testimonials, the exhibition highlighted the impact of terrorism on individuals, families, and communities worldwide. It served as a tribute to the victims of the April 21, 2025 attack and as a call for renewed global resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms.
The event was among the largest hosted by the Embassy on Capitol Hill. It drew participation from 19 Members of the U.S. Congress from across the political spectrum and more than 60 Congressional offices. Attendees included representatives from the House Foreign Affairs, Intelligence, Armed Services, Judiciary, and Homeland Security committees. Senior U.S. Administration officials, members of the Indian diaspora, students, media, and think tanks also attended.
In his remarks, Ambassador Vinay Kwatra reaffirmed India’s commitment to combating terrorism and reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message: “India will never bow to any form of terror.”
Members of Congress expressed solidarity with the victims and emphasized their commitment to strengthening the India–U.S. partnership in counterterrorism efforts.
