DG DIA’s Australia Visit to Boost Bilateral Defence Intelligence Cooperation

New Delhi: In a significant move to bolster bilateral defence intelligence cooperation, Director General Defence Intelligence Agency (DG DIA) Lt General DS Rana will undertake an official visit to Australia from March 19-21.

During his three-day visit, Lt General Rana will engage in high-level discussions with senior Australian Defence officials, including the Deputy Secretary, Department of Defence, and the Chief of Defence Intelligence. These talks will focus on enhancing intelligence-sharing mechanisms, regional security cooperation, and exploring avenues for further collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region.

Lt General Rana’s visit will also include a tour of the Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQ JOC), where he will gain insights into Australia’s operational framework and joint command structures. Additionally, he will interact with the Director of the Australian Geospatial Organisation (AGO) and participate in strategic discussions at the Lowy Institute, a leading international policy think tank.

In a symbolic gesture of respect and remembrance, Lt General Rana will lay a wreath at the Australian War Memorial and attend the Last Post Ceremony, honouring the sacrifices of fallen soldiers.

This official visit reinforces the strong defence ties between India and Australia, underscoring their shared commitment to maintaining peace, stability, and security in the region.
