INS Sarvekshak Completes Hydrographic Survey of Mauritius

Port Louis: In a important development in India-Mauritius maritime cooperation, INS Sarvekshak has completed a comprehensive hydrographic survey of Mauritian waters, covering an extensive area of over 25,000 square nautical miles.

The survey, conducted in collaboration with the Mauritian government, aims to enhance navigational safety, foster maritime development, and promote regional cooperation. The creation of new nautical charts will enable Mauritius to develop its maritime infrastructure, resource management, and coastal development planning.

During a ceremony held onboard, Anurag Srivastava, High Commissioner of India to Mauritius, handed over the fair sheet of the hydrographic survey, along with newly prepared nautical charts and survey equipment to Dharambeer Gokhool, the President of the Republic of Mauritius.

The visit of INS Sarvekshak reaffirms the continued commitment and wide-ranging partnership between India and Mauritius, in line with the vision of ‘SAGAR’ (Security And Growth for All in the Region).

The ship’s crew also engaged in a joint yoga session with personnel from the National Coast Guard, Mauritius, and the Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture (IGCIC), promoting people-to-people ties between the two nations.
