Royal Bhutan Army Chief Operations Officer Lt General Batoo Tshering Arrives in India

New Delhi: Lieutenant General Batoo Tshering, Chief Operations Officer of the Royal Bhutan Army, arrived in India today for a six-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral defense ties between Bhutan and India.

During his visit, General Tshering will engage in a series of high-level meetings and visits to key military institutions, including the Officers Training Academy in Gaya, the National Security Guard (NSG) in Manesar, and the Defence Image Processing and Analysis Centre (DIPAC).

In New Delhi, General Tshering will lay a wreath at the National War Memorial and receive a Guard of Honour at the South Block. He will also meet with top Indian officials, including the Chief of the Army Staff, National Security Advisor, Chief of Defence Staff, Defence Secretary, and Foreign Secretary.

The visit underscores the strong and enduring defense relationship between Bhutan and India, and is expected to further deepen bilateral cooperation in areas such as counter-terrorism, border security, and military training.

General Tshering’s visit will conclude on February 6, following a visit to the Headquarters of the Eastern Command of the Indian Army in Kolkata.
