Bastar: In a groundbreaking moment, 26 villages in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh proudly hoisted the national flag for the first time on the 76th Republic Day. This milestone marks a significant triumph in the region’s transformation from Naxalite dominance to a path of peace and development.

Anti-Naxal campaign has written a new chapter of security and development in the Bastar region. Security camps established in remote areas have brought stability to regions once under Naxalite influence.

Over the past year, 26 new security camps have been set up in Naxal-affected areas, strengthening law and order and fostering development. Villagers in districts like Bijapur, Sukma, Narayanpur, and Kanker participated in Republic Day celebrations with enthusiasm, marking a significant shift towards national integration.

Republic Day celebrations were held in various villages, where police and security forces collaborated with local residents to hoist the national flag, distribute sweets, and gift chocolates and other items to children. The villages where new security camps have been established include Gundam, Futkel, Chutwahi, Kondapalli, Zidpalli, Watewagu, Karregatta, and Pedia in Bijapur district, among others.

Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, Sundarraj P., attributed the success to the collective efforts of the Chhattisgarh government and security forces. The security camps have played a crucial role in steering Naxal-affected areas towards peace and development.

At the main Republic Day function in Jagdalpur, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma hoisted the national flag, lauding the success of the anti-Naxal campaign and efforts to ensure security and development in Bastar division.
