NIA Files Supplementary Chargesheet Against Tahawwur Rana

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet against Tahawwur Hussain Rana, an accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks case, before the NIA Special Court at Patiala House in New Delhi.
The case pertains to a criminal conspiracy allegedly hatched by David Coleman Headley, Tahawwur Hussain Rana, and other members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HUJI) to carry out terrorist attacks in India. Rana is accused of facilitating Headley’s activities.
The supplementary chargesheet includes documents related to Rana’s extradition from the United States and additional evidence collected by the NIA. A compliance report under Section 207 of the CrPC has also been submitted regarding the supply of documents related to the earlier chargesheet filed in 2011.
The investigation is ongoing, with the NIA working to bring all conspirators to justice. Rana’s judicial custody has been extended till August 13.
Tahawwur Rana was extradited to India from the US on April 10, 2025, after a prolonged legal battle. He is facing trial for his alleged role in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
