South Korean President Lee Jae Myung to Begin Three-Day State Visit to India on April 19

New Delhi: President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung will pay a state visit to India from April 19 to 21 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs said Wednesday. This will be President Lee’s first visit to India.
He will be accompanied by First Lady Kim Hea Kyung and a high-level delegation of ministers, senior officials and business leaders.
During the visit, President Lee will hold talks with Prime Minister Modi on strengthening bilateral cooperation across shipbuilding, trade, investments, AI, semiconductors, critical and emerging technologies, people-to-people ties and cultural exchanges. The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. Prime Minister Modi will host a lunch in honour of the visiting dignitary.
President Lee is also scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu, who will host a banquet in his honour. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will call on President Lee during the visit.
India and South Korea share a multifaceted partnership rooted in ancient civilizational ties and shared values of democracy and rule of law. The visit underscores the shared aspiration of both countries to further strengthen existing areas of cooperation while expanding collaboration in new and emerging areas of mutual interest.
