JSW UAV, Telangana Government Ink Pact for Cutting-Edge UAS Facility

Mumbai: The Government of Telangana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JSW UAV Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Defence, to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in the state.
“The facility, which will be set up with an investment of approximately ₹800 crores, will leverage cutting-edge technology from a leading US-based defense technology company to manufacture UAS. This initiative is expected to create over 200 high-value jobs,” said JSW Defence.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister Revant Reddy and Parth Jindal of JSW Group, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos. Speaking on the occasion, Revant Reddy highlighted Telangana’s emergence as a leader in manufacturing across sectors, including semiconductor, defense, private space, and FMCG.
“Hyderabad, and Telengana, was long positioned in the global market as software and pharma leader. With clear vision and diligent efforts, we are now establishing Telengana as a clear leader for investments in manufacturing across sectors, ranging from semiconductor, defence, private space to FMCG” said Chief Minister Reddy
Parth Jindal emphasized JSW Group’s commitment to indigenizing defense technology in India.
“This MoU underscores our unwavering commitment to playing a key role in indigenizing defense technology in India.” said Parth Jindal of JSW Group.
JSW Defence Pvt Ltd. has also partnered with Shield AI, Inc, a leading US defense technology company, to manufacture Shield AI’s “V-BAT”, a Group 3 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS).
